# Calculus vs Asap Calculus

The clearest difference is rating: Calculus at 5.0 against Asap Calculus's 4.2. Calculus also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.6). Asap Calculus's advantage is ratings volume (92 vs 3) and review sentiment (60% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calculus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Asap Calculus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calculus holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Asap Calculus has 92 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Calculus's written reviews are positive against 60% of Asap Calculus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Calculus ships an update every 4 months, Asap Calculus every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
