# Subway Hoverboard vs The Shine

The clearest difference is update cadence: Subway Hoverboard at every 4 months against The Shine's every 14 months. Subway Hoverboard also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Subway Hoverboard sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and The Shine sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Subway Hoverboard ships an update every 4 months, The Shine every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
