# My Cloud Home vs UniFi Design

The clearest difference is ratings volume: My Cloud Home at 14K against UniFi Design's 5. My Cloud Home also leads on review sentiment (40% vs 24%) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). UniFi Design's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

UniFi Design holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Cloud Home has 14K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of My Cloud Home's written reviews are positive against 24% of UniFi Design's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

My Cloud Home ships an update every 2 months, UniFi Design fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
