# MT Browser vs Pure Web Browser

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pure Web Browser at free with in-app purchases against MT Browser's subscription. Pure Web Browser also leads on review sentiment (76% vs 49%) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 13.0). MT Browser's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and rating (4.4 vs 4.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MT Browser sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Pure Web Browser sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MT Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MT Browser has 2.1K ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of MT Browser's written reviews are positive against 76% of Pure Web Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MT Browser ships an update every 3 weeks, Pure Web Browser every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
