# MT Browser vs Private Browser

The clearest difference is monetization model: Private Browser at free with in-app purchases against MT Browser's subscription. Private Browser also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (68% vs 49%). MT Browser's advantage is ratings volume (2.1K vs 233) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MT Browser sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Private Browser sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Private Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MT Browser has 2.1K ratings behind it against 233, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 49% of MT Browser's written reviews are positive against 68% of Private Browser's.

MT Browser ships an update every 3 weeks, Private Browser weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
