# WriterDuet vs Casting Networks

The clearest difference is rating: Casting Networks at 4.6 against WriterDuet's 3.1. Casting Networks also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (1.6K vs 72). WriterDuet's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (37% vs 22%). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Casting Networks sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per month. WriterDuet asks for nothing beyond the download.

Casting Networks holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Casting Networks has 1.6K ratings behind it against 72, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of WriterDuet's written reviews are positive against 22% of Casting Networks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WriterDuet ships an update every 2 months, Casting Networks fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
