# 12 Steps Guide vs MeetingMaker

The clearest difference is monetization model: MeetingMaker at freemium against 12 Steps Guide's subscription. MeetingMaker also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). 12 Steps Guide's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 59). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 12 Steps Guide sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year and MeetingMaker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

12 Steps Guide holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 12 Steps Guide has 3.3K ratings behind it against 59, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of 12 Steps Guide's written reviews are positive against 100% of MeetingMaker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

12 Steps Guide ships an update every 3 months, MeetingMaker every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
