# Carv Digital Ski Coach vs GearLog

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: GearLog at none against Carv Digital Ski Coach's 1. GearLog also leads on review sentiment (90% vs 80%) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Carv Digital Ski Coach's advantage is ratings volume (2.8K vs 35) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Carv Digital Ski Coach sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $99.99 per year. GearLog asks for nothing beyond the download.

Carv Digital Ski Coach holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Carv Digital Ski Coach has 2.8K ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Carv Digital Ski Coach's written reviews are positive against 90% of GearLog's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Carv Digital Ski Coach ships an update weekly, GearLog every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
