# Focus timer vs Pomodoro Timer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Focus timer at 77% against Pomodoro Timer's 6%. Focus timer also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). Pomodoro Timer's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Pomodoro Timer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pomodoro Timer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus timer has 1.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Focus timer's written reviews are positive against 6% of Pomodoro Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Focus timer ships an update every 5 weeks, Pomodoro Timer every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
