# Focus timer vs Tranquil

The clearest difference is rating: Focus timer at 4.6 against Tranquil's 2.5. Focus timer also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 2) and device support (4 vs 1). Tranquil's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 77%). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Tranquil sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focus timer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus timer has 1.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Focus timer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tranquil's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
