# Voice to Text vs Instant Transcript

The clearest difference is rating: Instant Transcript at 5.0 against Voice to Text's 4.6. Voice to Text's advantage is ratings volume (2.9K vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Voice to Text sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Instant Transcript sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Instant Transcript holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Voice to Text has 2.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Voice to Text ships an update every 9 days, Instant Transcript every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
