# US Magazine vs Outside

The clearest difference is rating: Outside at 4.6 against US Magazine's 1.7. Outside also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 15 months) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. US Magazine sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $49.99 per year and Outside sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $89.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Outside holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Outside has 1.9K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 0% of US Magazine's written reviews are positive against 22% of Outside's.

US Magazine ships an update every 15 months, Outside every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
