# Potatso vs LeapVPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: Potatso at free with in-app purchases against LeapVPN's subscription. Potatso also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 weeks). LeapVPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Potatso sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and LeapVPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LeapVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6.3K and 4.4K respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 58% of Potatso's written reviews are positive against 62% of LeapVPN's.

Potatso ships an update every 5 days, LeapVPN every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
