# MetroWaxx vs My Aveda

MetroWaxx and My Aveda both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of MetroWaxx's written reviews are positive against 51% of My Aveda's. My Aveda's advantage is ratings volume (10K vs 99) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for MetroWaxx against 4.9 for My Aveda. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Aveda has 10K ratings behind it against 99, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of MetroWaxx's written reviews are positive against 51% of My Aveda's.

MetroWaxx ships an update every 9 months, My Aveda every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
