# Vault vs Secure Folder

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Vault at 93% against Secure Folder's 40%. Vault also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ads (none vs shown). Secure Folder's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (663 vs 4). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure Folder sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Vault asks for nothing beyond the download.

Secure Folder holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure Folder has 663 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of Vault's written reviews are positive against 40% of Secure Folder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Vault ships an update every 8 days, Secure Folder every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
