# Scan vs Scan it

Scan and Scan it both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Scan it's written reviews are positive against 66% of Scan's. Scan's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 137) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scan sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Scan it sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Scan against 4.9 for Scan it. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan has 1.2K ratings behind it against 137, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 66% of Scan's written reviews are positive against 100% of Scan it's.

Scan ships an update every 6 weeks, Scan it every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
