# Artstudio Pro vs Brushes for Procreate

Artstudio Pro and Brushes for Procreate both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 74% of Artstudio Pro's written reviews are positive against 48% of Brushes for Procreate's. Brushes for Procreate's advantage is ratings volume (20K vs 4.1K) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Artstudio Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per year and Brushes for Procreate sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Brushes for Procreate holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4.1K and 20K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Artstudio Pro's written reviews are positive against 48% of Brushes for Procreate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Artstudio Pro ships an update monthly, Brushes for Procreate every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
