# HD Wallpapers vs Backgroundia

The clearest difference is rating: HD Wallpapers at 4.7 against Backgroundia's 1.5. Backgroundia's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 25). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HD Wallpapers sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Backgroundia sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HD Wallpapers holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgroundia has 1.5K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HD Wallpapers ships an update every 8 months, Backgroundia every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
