# Focus Task vs Focalist

The clearest difference is rating: Focalist at 5.0 against Focus Task's 4.4. Focalist also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 6 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 75%). Focus Task's advantage is ratings volume (51 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus Task sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Focalist sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focalist holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus Task has 51 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of Focus Task's written reviews are positive against 100% of Focalist's.

Focus Task ships an update every 6 months, Focalist every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
