The clearest difference is rating: My altafiber at 4.8 against GridWise Ohio's 3.0. My altafiber also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). GridWise Ohio's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GridWise Ohio sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. My altafiber asks for nothing beyond the download.

My altafiber holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My altafiber has 8.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of My altafiber's written reviews are positive against 100% of GridWise Ohio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
