# Oriole vs SockSB

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SockSB at 100% against Oriole's 43%. SockSB also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). Oriole's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Oriole sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and SockSB sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SockSB holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Oriole has 221 ratings behind it against 38, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 43% of Oriole's written reviews are positive against 100% of SockSB's.

Oriole ships an update weekly, SockSB every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
