# SAMPE Journal vs Skylob

The clearest difference is update cadence: Skylob at every 3 weeks against SAMPE Journal's every 13 months. SAMPE Journal's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SAMPE Journal ships an update every 13 months, Skylob every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
