# Trackman Golf vs MatchPlay

Trackman Golf and MatchPlay both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of MatchPlay's written reviews are positive against 40% of Trackman Golf's. MatchPlay also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Trackman Golf's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (45K vs 4). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MatchPlay sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Trackman Golf asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Trackman Golf against 5.0 for MatchPlay. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trackman Golf has 45K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 40% of Trackman Golf's written reviews are positive against 100% of MatchPlay's.

Trackman Golf ships an update every 3 weeks, MatchPlay weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
