# Thermal Cam vs Doodle Filter

The clearest difference is rating: Doodle Filter at 5.0 against Thermal Cam's 2.6. Doodle Filter also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 8 months). Thermal Cam's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Doodle Filter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thermal Cam has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Thermal Cam ships an update every 8 months, Doodle Filter every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
