# MaxiAP vs Tekmetric Mobile

The clearest difference is monetization model: MaxiAP at free against Tekmetric Mobile's subscription. MaxiAP also leads on rating (3.1 vs 2.7) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.4). Tekmetric Mobile's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (60 vs 7). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MaxiAP holds the better App Store score, 3.1 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tekmetric Mobile has 60 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.
