# Spreadsheet vs XLSX Sheets

Spreadsheet and XLSX Sheets both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 61% of Spreadsheet's written reviews are positive against 24% of XLSX Sheets's. Spreadsheet also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). XLSX Sheets's advantage is ratings volume (2.9K vs 165) and chart position (#156 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spreadsheet sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and XLSX Sheets sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Spreadsheet against 4.5 for XLSX Sheets. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: XLSX Sheets has 2.9K ratings behind it against 165, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 61% of Spreadsheet's written reviews are positive against 24% of XLSX Sheets's.

Spreadsheet ships an update every 9 days, XLSX Sheets monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
