# SMS Shield vs AI Spam Shield Text Blocker

The clearest difference is rating: SMS Shield at 3.2 against AI Spam Shield Text Blocker's 2.3. SMS Shield also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (138 vs 3). AI Spam Shield Text Blocker's advantage is review sentiment (38% vs 17%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SMS Shield sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and AI Spam Shield Text Blocker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SMS Shield holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SMS Shield has 138 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of SMS Shield's written reviews are positive against 38% of AI Spam Shield Text Blocker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SMS Shield ships an update fortnightly, AI Spam Shield Text Blocker every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
