# SmartWOD Timer vs RM

The clearest difference is rating: SmartWOD Timer at 4.9 against RM's 2.0. SmartWOD Timer also leads on ratings volume (54K vs 1) and update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). RM's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 11) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SmartWOD Timer sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. RM asks for nothing beyond the download.

SmartWOD Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartWOD Timer has 54K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of SmartWOD Timer's written reviews are positive against 100% of RM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SmartWOD Timer ships an update every 10 days, RM monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
