# Sub vs Time Zone Shifter

The clearest difference is rating: Sub at 4.4 against Time Zone Shifter's 3.7. Sub also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (778 vs 9). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time Zone Shifter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Sub asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sub holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sub has 778 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Sub's written reviews are positive against 20% of Time Zone Shifter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sub ships an update every 5 weeks, Time Zone Shifter monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
