# MBCTOSA vs Identifier

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MBCTOSA at none against Identifier's 2. MBCTOSA also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.2 vs 18.0). Identifier's advantage is ratings volume (11 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Identifier sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. MBCTOSA asks for nothing beyond the download.

MBCTOSA holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Identifier has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
