# HUE vs Hue Hunter

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: HUE at none against Hue Hunter's 1. HUE also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Hue Hunter's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (9 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hue Hunter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. HUE asks for nothing beyond the download.

HUE holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of HUE's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hue Hunter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HUE ships an update every 4 months, Hue Hunter every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
