# X vs Authenticator+ App

The clearest difference is ads: Authenticator+ App at none against X's shown. Authenticator+ App also leads on review sentiment (69% vs 55%). X's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (625K vs 3K). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. X sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Authenticator+ App sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for X against 4.5 for Authenticator+ App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: X has 625K ratings behind it against 3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 55% of X's written reviews are positive against 69% of Authenticator+ App's.

X ships an update weekly, Authenticator+ App every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
