# Mysa vs Next lock

The clearest difference is rating: Mysa at 3.8 against Next lock's 2.7. Mysa also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (572 vs 74). Next lock's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (42% vs 30%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Mysa holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mysa has 572 ratings behind it against 74, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Mysa's written reviews are positive against 42% of Next lock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mysa ships an update every 4 weeks, Next lock every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
