# TrayTime vs SmileDiary

The clearest difference is update cadence: SmileDiary at every 5 days against TrayTime's every 5 weeks. TrayTime's advantage is iOS requirement (10.3 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TrayTime sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SmileDiary sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TrayTime ships an update every 5 weeks, SmileDiary every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on August 24, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
