# note vs Nano Notes

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Nano Notes at none against note's 1. Nano Notes also leads on ratings volume (150 vs 5) and review sentiment (83% vs 68%). note's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 3 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. note sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Nano Notes asks for nothing beyond the download.

note holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nano Notes has 150 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of note's written reviews are positive against 83% of Nano Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

note ships an update every 2 months, Nano Notes every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
