# Libretto vs Word Mesh

The clearest difference is rating: Libretto at 4.4 against Word Mesh's 3.0. Libretto also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months) and review sentiment (63% vs 50%). Word Mesh's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Libretto sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Word Mesh sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Libretto holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Libretto has 11 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 63% of Libretto's written reviews are positive against 50% of Word Mesh's.

Libretto ships an update every 2 weeks, Word Mesh every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
