# Diary With Password vs The E

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Diary With Password at 27K against The E's 1. Diary With Password also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). The E's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Diary With Password sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and The E sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The E holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diary With Password has 27K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Diary With Password ships an update every 2 weeks, The E weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
