# HFK DVR vs Insta360

The clearest difference is rating: Insta360 at 4.4 against HFK DVR's 3.5. Insta360 also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (9.4K vs 2). HFK DVR's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 23) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Insta360 sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. HFK DVR asks for nothing beyond the download.

Insta360 holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Insta360 has 9.4K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of HFK DVR's written reviews are positive against 29% of Insta360's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HFK DVR ships an update every 3 months, Insta360 every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
