# MacrosFirst vs Sandbar

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Sandbar at none against MacrosFirst's 9. Sandbar also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (11.0.0 vs 16.0). MacrosFirst's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 13 months) and ratings volume (23K vs 1). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MacrosFirst sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Sandbar asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for MacrosFirst against 5.0 for Sandbar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MacrosFirst has 23K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MacrosFirst ships an update weekly, Sandbar every 13 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
