# Backgammon vs Backgammon

The clearest difference is rating: Backgammon at 5.0 against Backgammon's 4.4. Backgammon also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Backgammon's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (188 vs 6). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Backgammon holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon has 188 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 70% and 70% positive.

Backgammon ships an update fortnightly, Backgammon every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
