# Backgammon vs Backgammon

The clearest difference is rating: Backgammon at 4.4 against Backgammon's 3.3. Backgammon also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (188 vs 3). Backgammon's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Backgammon holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon has 188 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of Backgammon's written reviews are positive against 50% of Backgammon's.

Backgammon ships an update fortnightly, Backgammon every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
