# NewValue vs Skink

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Skink at 79% against NewValue's 18%. Skink also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). NewValue's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NewValue holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of NewValue's written reviews are positive against 79% of Skink's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NewValue ships an update every 6 weeks, Skink every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
