# Matey vs Indexed

The clearest difference is update cadence: Matey at every 5 days against Indexed's every 2 weeks. Matey also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Indexed's advantage is ratings volume (22 vs 4). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Matey against 5.0 for Indexed. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Indexed has 22 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Matey ships an update every 5 days, Indexed every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
