# Scales vs flutter widget

The clearest difference is rating: flutter widget at 3.9 against Scales's 1.0. flutter widget also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). Scales's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

flutter widget holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: flutter widget has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scales ships an update every 4 months, flutter widget weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
