# Speakly vs Verby

The clearest difference is rating: Verby at 5.0 against Speakly's 4.4. Speakly's advantage is ratings volume (847 vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speakly sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Verby sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Verby holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speakly has 847 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speakly ships an update fortnightly, Verby every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
