# Asset Essentials vs Genetec Mobile

The clearest difference is rating: Genetec Mobile at 3.2 against Asset Essentials's 2.8. Genetec Mobile also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium). Asset Essentials's advantage is ratings volume (238 vs 38). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Genetec Mobile holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Asset Essentials has 238 ratings behind it against 38, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Asset Essentials's written reviews are positive against 14% of Genetec Mobile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
