# Mattermost vs Nexus Workplace

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Nexus Workplace at 100% against Mattermost's 38%. Nexus Workplace also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). Mattermost's advantage is ratings volume (5.7K vs 5) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Mattermost holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mattermost has 5.7K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Mattermost's written reviews are positive against 100% of Nexus Workplace's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mattermost ships an update every 9 days, Nexus Workplace every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
