# SAM Field vs WorkTango

The clearest difference is rating: SAM Field at 5.0 against WorkTango's 3.1. SAM Field also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). WorkTango's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (87 vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SAM Field holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WorkTango has 87 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SAM Field ships an update every 7 months, WorkTango every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
