# Cool Ringtones vs Ringtone Maker

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cool Ringtones at every 5 weeks against Ringtone Maker's every 29 months. Cool Ringtones also leads on iOS requirement (9.1 vs 15.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cool Ringtones sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Ringtone Maker sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ringtone Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.6K and 652 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Cool Ringtones's written reviews are positive against 71% of Ringtone Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cool Ringtones ships an update every 5 weeks, Ringtone Maker every 29 months. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
