# Loop Messenger vs Wave

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Loop Messenger at 40 against Wave's 1. Loop Messenger also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 4 weeks) and device support (4 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Loop Messenger against 5.0 for Wave. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Loop Messenger has 40 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Loop Messenger ships an update every 10 days, Wave every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 7, 2026.
